Grade 1 Pattern Necklaces

First graders sculpted shape- beads out self-drying clay, and once dry, painted them with watercolors.  To construct their necklaces, they first made a sketch showing their pattern, and then they followed the pattern to string their beads.  

 Here are some preliminary sketches for the necklaces (we turned them into self-portraits!)
