Concentric Circles by Grade 1

These paintings are inspired by the painter Wassily Kandinsky's artwork: Squares with Concentric Circles.  First graders mixed primary colors to make the secondary colors as well as brown, to paint their circles.





Winter Landscapes by Grade 4

I first saw this project on Miss Young's Artroom blog....Our fourth graders learned about the term monochromatic, and they mixed varying shades of blue to create these monochromatic winter landscapes.

Recycled Crayons by Grade 3

Third graders collected old bits of crayons, which will then be recycled into new multi-color crayons.  Stay tuned for pictures of the new crayons!!







Warm and Cool Mobiles by Grade 3

Paper Fish Sculptures by Grade 1

First graders learned one way to make a 3D sculpture out of two flat pieces of paper.  They used a watercolor resist, and warm and cool colors to paint their fish.

Clay Sun and Moon Sculptures by Kindergarten



We read an African myth about why the sun and the moon live in the sky, before embarking on these sculptures.  We added wire and beads as a final embellishment.
