First graders started by sculpting clay beads in a variety of shapes. We waited for them to harden, and then painted using watercolors. Finally we strung our beads in a pattern and first graders proudly wore them home!

Landscape Drawings by Grade 1
First graders learned that a landscape is a picture of the land.
They observed many landscape images before embarking on their own landscape drawings.
After drawing their landscape, students focused on color blending.
Once their drawings were complete, each first grader added a frame and decorated it with components from his or her drawing.
