Golf Ball Art!

We are preparing for the big golf ball art show, which is going to be put on in connection with the annual Center School golf tournament fundraiser.  Each student at Center has created a unique piece of 2D or 3D golf ball art.

Mondrian Paintings by Kindergarten

These were inspired by the shapes and colors found in many of Piet Mondrian's paintings.

Fish Prints by Grade 3

Third graders learned all about fish prints made in Japan using real fish.  For our prints, we used foam instead.  Each student created two prints, one with black ink on white paper, and the other with white ink on black paper.

Imaginary Creature Collages by Gr. 3

These collages are inspired by the book Creatures Creatures by Eric Carle.  Each student invented an imaginary creature that incorporates two or more existing animals.  We used Carle's method of painting our own tissue paper, and then using it for our collages.

Log Cabin Quilt Collages by Gr. 1

These quilt squares are based on the traditional quilt pattern called "log cabin".

Self-Portrait Collages by Grade 2

Keith Haring Dog Collages by Gr. K

These colorful collages are inspired by the artwork of artist Keith Haring.  There is an amazing website dedicated to his artwork: www.haringkids.com
