Links and Ideas for Doing Art at Home

Hi Center School Friends!  While I look forward to seeing all of you in the Center School Art Room again, here are some links to help keep you busy and creative in the meantime.......
Try to spend at least 45 minutes each week making art and learning about art.

These famous museums are offering virtual tours and look like a lot of fun to check out:  https://www.nymetroparents.com/article/museums-with-virtual-tours

Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems, fun videos where you can draw along with author Mo Willems!

Here is the link to the Incredible Art Department, click on your grade level and find lots of fun lessons.  Just use any supplies you may have at home.  Use your imagination and don't try to follow the lesson exactly!

Here't the link to the YouTube channel, ART for KIDS HUB, which is full of how-to-draw tutorials with many fun topics like silly food, and movie characters.

Operation Story Time: Your favorite authors host story time online.  https://coolprogeny.com/2020/03/operation-storytime/

You can also get offline and try some of the following art activities:
Create your own comic book
Design a poster for your favorite movie
Make a bookmark for a family member
Use paper towel tubes to make a marble run
Use items found in nature to create natural artwork outside
Draw outside using sidewalk chalk
Use leaves found outside, crayons and paper to make a leaf rubbing
Make a collage using photos or magazine cut outs
Look in a mirror and draw a self portrait

What other fun, creative, constructive ideas can you come up with!?

I miss you all so much!  Be sure to email me with any questions, or even just to share your artwork with me at mgoldman@longmeadow.k12.ma.us
See you all soon Center School Friends,
Ms. Goldman :)
