Grade 2 Fauvist Landscapes
2nd graders learned that Henri Matisse was a member of the "fauves" or the "wild beasts". They were called "wild beasts" because they painted with bright and wild colors. What wild colors do you see in these chalk pastel landscapes?

Line Turtles by Grade 1
First graders learned how to draw a turtle using simple shapes. Then they filled their turtles with all kinds of lines. The final touch was a frame using even more lines.

First Grade Fishbowls
These were inspired by the goldfish bowls and goldfish in our summer reading story. First graders colored their drawings with crayon and painted over the crayon with a watercolor resist technique.
One Community One Book By Grades 1 - 5
Our first project is all about our "One Community One Book" summer reading, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. Students each created 1/4 of a mandala using symbols or images they loved in the story.
