Paper Sculpture Fish by Grade 1

We read Hooray For Fish by Lucy Cousins for inspiration for this project.  First graders learned about the many types of materials a sculpture can be made of.  They painted their fish sculptures with warm and cool colors and designs.

Primary Color Popsicles by Grade K

Kindergartners are learning all about the primary colors.  In this project they mixed secondary colors for their backgrounds as well.  Don't these pops look delicious!?

Mitten Paintings by Grade 2

These wintery mitten paintings are painted with all the primary, secondary AND intermediate colors.

Fourth graders mixed tints and shades to create all the colors in these "sunburst" paintings.  When the paint was dry, they added line designs using colored pencil for an added finishing touch.

Fifth graders learned about watercolor wash, masking, using salt to add texture to watercolors, as well as shading and shadows.  The results are amazing!
