Tall Sandwich Collages by Grade 3
Third graders used a variety of materials in different textures and colors to make these collages, including paper bags, yarn, tissue paper, and foam!
Matisse Collages by Grade 1
We read Henri's Scissors by Jeannette Winter, and learned all about Henri Matisse's paper collages. First graders used many of Matisse's favorite shapes in their collages.
Notan Collages by Grade 5
Notan is a Japanese art style that focuses on positive and negative space. Fifth graders created these collages by cutting interesting shapes using positive and negative space.
Abstract Prints by Grade 4
The painting Mountains and Sea by Helen Frankenthaler was our inspiration for this project. Students "stained" their paper with tissue paper before printing their abstract design.
