Clay Leaf Bowls - in progress
This week fourth graders used a variety of leaves of imprint into moist clay. They carved out the leaf shape and left them inside styrofoam bowls so that they'll dry into a bowl shape. Here's what they look like so far…
Hand Dragons!
These are inspired by our summer reading book, Kenny and the Dragon. Each student created a piece of "hand art" using their name as part of the design. Look closely and you'll see all the hands that make up the scales. Each grade worked together to create a Hand Dragon.

We're Making Hand Dragons!
The elementary school community read the book Kenny & The Dragon by Tony DiTerlizzi this summer. As a culminating lesson in art, all students are creating a piece of "hand art" which includes their name.
Once they're complete, we'll put all the hands together to create the body of a giant dragon.
Here are some photos of the early stages of this project, and stay tuned for photos of the final products!
