Our inspiration behind these was the landscape paintings of artist, David Hockney. First graders filled each hillside with a different type of line design and then used oil pastel and watercolors to complete their artwork.

Bridge Paintings by Grade 2
To introduce this lesson, I showed students three Japanese woodblock prints that all depict different types of bridges. Students envisioned their own bridge, made a sketch, and then created these vibrant final products using watercolors.

iPad Drawings by Grade 5
This is my second year doing this project, and the results are amazing once again! Fifth graders photographed a still life using the iPad. They used the app, Sketchbook Express to trace the contour lines of the photograph, and then erased the photo layer, leaving only the drawing.

Square 1 Art
Fifth graders picture below are working on colorful patterned peacock drawings for the Square 1 Fundrasier project. All grades are participating and creating some great work in art class. Keep an eye out in the Spring to order products featuring your student's drawing or painting!
