Wow, thanks to the website Panther's Palette for the idea for this amazing project. First we learned all about Claude Monet and impressionism by watching a Google presentation. We especially looked at paintings and photographs of his gardens, bridges, and waterlilies. Next students used masking tape to create a bridge, and round "stampers" to stamp colored circles all over their paper. The final products came out looking very "impressionist"!

Cherry Blossoms by Grade 2
The second grade teachers asked if I would do this project, to go along with the students' haiku poems. I am so glad they asked, because I think these came out amazing! We used marker to draw the branches, and used the bottom of water bottles to stamp the blossoms. Students also created a small stamp to "sign" their work.

Dragons Dragons! By Grade 3
Our school has the honor of hosting the author Grace Lin next week. We used her novel, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon as inspiration for these dragon collages. We also looked at the collage style of Eric Carle.
