Long Meddowe Days Parade Banners

These were made for our marchers representing Center School in the parade last weekend.  The banners were signed by every K - 5 student in the school!

Circle Weavings by Grade 5

Fifth graders worked so hard on these advanced weavings, and the results are fabulous.  Students created their own looms, learned about "warp" and "weft" and chose a unique color palette and pattern for their weavings.

Bugs in a Jar by Grade 1

First graders used stamps and paint to fill their jar with many colorful varieties of insects.

Matisse Collages by Grade 2

These collages were inspired by Beasts of the Sea by Henri Matisse.  Second graders used many of the same shapes favored by Matisse, such as stars, fish, hearts and swirls.

Blotto Monsters by Grade K

Kindergarteners explored printmaking and symmetry in this lesson.  They also used paper-folding techniques to add features to their monsters.

Fishy Weavings by Grade K

We have a lot of different types of weaving going on in the art room these days, and the Kindergarteners are involved as well.  They created colorful fish drawings and learned how to create a paper weaving, by cutting slits and then weaving strips.

Tall Sandwich Collages

Third graders used their imagination, as well as a wide variety of different types of collage materials (such as yarn, felt, cardboard, toothpicks, foam, and more..) to create these amazing
"tall sandwiches".
