Fifth graders are learning about the Bill of Rights in Social Studies. In art, each table was assigned a different amendment or group of amendments. Students copied their amendments, cut them up and created a collage, and then painted their flag over the collage. As inspiration we looked at the flag paintings of artist, Jasper Johns and the collage entitled "Words of Freedom" by artist, Jennifer Lockwood.
