Texture Architecture by Grade 1
We started by reading a great book called Spiky, Slimy, Smooth - What is Texture? and first graders located textures found all around the art room. Next, they created papers filled with textures, using our handy texture screens. The final step was to cut up the texture papers, and use the shapes to create architecture!
Radial Designs by Grade 2
We discussed all the radial designs that are found in nature, such as flowers, spider webs and sand dollars. Second graders created these original designs using cardboard circles, wood shapes, oil pastels, and watercolors.
