Learned about negative and positive space by tracing their hands and filling in the negative space around the hands with a vibrant watercolor/oil pastel resist.

Fourth graders have been painting these sets in preparation for their big Alice in Wonderland production.  We think they're coming out great!

Up-Close Snowmen by Grade 2

I got the idea for this great painting project from an art teacher's blog called www.deepspacesparkle.com.  Second graders did a terrific job making these snowpeople come alive with bright colors and expressions.

Kandinsky Circles by Grade 1

 First graders learned about mixing the primary colors to make secondary colors while creating these circle paintings inspired by the concentric circles of modern artist, Wassily Kandinsky.
