Snake Sculptures by Grade 1

First we read the story the story Hide and Snake by Keith Baker for inspiration for this project.  Then, first graders used coil rolling techniques to mold two snakes.  They added patterns using various clay tools, and  final step was to paint and add google eyes.

Coil Pots by Grade 3

These are the coil pots after coming out of the kiln, and before being glazed.

Clay Houses by Grade 4

Fourth graders sculpted these house facades after looking at house illustrations and drawing sketches.  They added many different textures using a variety of tools.  The final step was to paint them with watercolors.  They worked so hard, and the outcome is just amazing!
